Restorative Dentistry

We offer a range of services to bring back your smile when you’re experiencing missing or damaged teeth. These include the latest technology in fillings, dentures, crown and bridge preparation, root canals, laser gum contouring, and tooth extractions.

Fillings

A filling is a means to restore a damaged or decayed tooth to its normal function and shape. When the decayed or damaged portion of the tooth is removed, a filling is placed in the space.

There are several different types of fillings available today. These include:

  • Amalgam (silver) fillings – A silver alloy that contains mercury, silver, tin, and copper. Silver alloy is a solid and durable filling material that can be used on any tooth in the mouth.
  • Composite (tooth-coloured) fillings – Composite fillings are made of a combination of plastic and fine glass particles. They are matched to the colour of your teeth and can be used on any tooth in the mouth.
  • Ceramic (tooth-coloured) fillings – Ceramic fillings are quite durable. They are made from porcelain that is carefully coloured to match the hue of your teeth. Ceramic fillings are usually used on front teeth

Crowns

A crown is a dental cap that replaces the entirety of a damaged or cracked tooth. When cavities or cracks threaten a tooth’s health, crowns protect and restore the threatened tooth’s strength.

Though we provide crowns constructed from gold and metal, we also offer ceramic porcelain crowns that can be created to match the colour of your tooth, rendering the restoration almost entirely unnoticeable.

Bridges

Dental bridges are false teeth that act as replacements for missing teeth, essentially bridging the gap in your mouth by attaching to the surrounding teeth. The dental bridge is most commonly done using crowns on either side of the false tooth.
If gaps in your teeth go untreated, the neighbouring teeth can shift and cause further damage. To avoid this issue and promote healthy-looking smiles, we offer all-porcelain bridges.

Partial Dentures

A partial denture is a good solution if you miss a few teeth. Partial dentures are an acrylic platform onto which several artificial teeth are attached. When placed inside the mouth, the false teeth fill in any gaps from the missing teeth, giving the appearance of a fully restored smile. The dentures can be placed on the top or bottom of the mouth and attached to the fixed teeth via small clips.

SmileHub specializes in traditional partial dentures and the more flexible Valplast dentures for a more realistic and durable finish.
